Contact form 2.0, now with more Contact
If you've seen the Contact page some time since the last Post, you may have seen the title iindicating, it's not working.
To be honest, it never worked, I just didn't care about it too much.
Previously:
While coding and testing the website, it was running locally on my pc in a terminal Window and the Contact Form was jut printing the received Messages to the Console. I never cared about it too much, but now that I am actually showing this Website to people, I think it's time to finally fix it.
mails mails mails:
If we are talking about Message Delivery, there is an obvious Winner: E-Mails
Okay, I am joking. E-Mails are kinda nice, but they have their flaws. They are generally unencrypted (even though you can easily enable encryption) and they are kinda messy when exchanging lots of short messages. They are, however, pretty cool, since it's based on a decentralized server structure and there are a lot of people using it.
To be honest, the main reason I am using Mails to send Contact Forms to myself is because it's easy. This whole Website is based on an abomination of Flask (Python) and HTML. Since there is a library for SMTP connections for Python (and yes, I know there is a library for everything), it's pretty easy to send mails.
Another generic heading
Now that the system is working, you can finally spam my mail-inbox with your messages. But please remember:
- No, I won't code a website for you
- No, I am not interested in your ideas for Videogames
- If you want longer conversations, just send me a Discord DM instead
- Your Messages are not encrypted, but if you have a public OpenPGP Signature, I will use it if you mention it in your Message (If you don't, I will probably forget to check)
That's it for today (finally)
