Hey there

Imagine starting a blog and coding a website and all of that stuff and then just disappearing. Couldn't be me.

Whatever, here are some news:

Server updates

Mastodon

There is a new website running: Mastodon

If you wanna register, just provide a reason and know that I'll be able to see your e-mail and if your reason is too vague or something, I'll send you a mail, asking for clarification.

Everything relevant can be found on the instance

Landing page

After some discussions with people from the t-online mail team (long story, will elaborate further later), I threw together a simple website that's mostly generated from some env variables and some csvs and jsons.

It lists some of our services and some options to contact me/my friend.

New services that are public will probably be listed on there eventually.

Mailserver Stuff

As I mentioned earlier, I chatted with some friendly people from the t-online mail team. Although they were confused on how to address me (which was honestly very funny, since I ended most mails with "Kind regards, Shadow" and in like one mail I added "(she/they/her)". Their next mail still started with "Dear Sir/Madam") they were very kind and told me to add a PTR record as well as telling me that I need a website available on the mail domain which lists at least one other way to contact me/us, in case of emergencies, while not using the mail server.

They only forgot to mention, it has to be an e-mail adress (twice). Well, anyways, while I was at it, I also fixed the dmarc/dkim entry, now most servers can be reached from our mail server. (yippie)

misc stuff

Added better ways to renew certificates and did some general server-maintenance stuff.

Anyways, that's pretty much it. Maybe I'll set up an RSS feed or a mailing list for new blog posts, but I am currently busy with other stuff, so it might be a while until I do something like that. (Or maybe just like an evening of hyperfixation)

See you around (maybe on Mastodon)
